Shortly after I was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2011, I started tweeting about it anonymously @double_whammied. Eventually, I began writing about it not-so-anonymously for TODAY.com (I’m a freelance journalist so this was a natural progression).
I also began to explore the whole mess at SingleShotSeattle, a blog I started a couple of years ago when I was writing the Single Shot column for the now-defunct Seattle P-I. Anyway, now that I’m done with radiation and have a bit more time on my hands, I figured it might be best to compartmentalize things. Keep the single stuff over at Single Shot and keep the breast cancer crap over here.
So welcome to my brand new blog, Double Whammied, where I’ll be discussing my experience with breast cancer (and its delightful treatment!), posting information about new findings and research, talking about the trials and tribulations of dating when you’re bald, boobless and just a wee bit bitter about the whole cancer thing. And most of all, trying to process what the fuck I just went through.
